READMAGINE 2017

Prototyping for the future

In the 2017 edition, Readmagine took a more radical step to focus on readers, users of public services and consumers. There was even a session in which a group of experts (from 8 to 10 years old) on the future needs of libraries showed their prototype to the heads of the Madrid City Council.
During the 4 IDDM, general market data for the previous year were presented. Once again, this meeting allowed us to contrast the experiences of the leaders of new business models. The focus was this year on the Chinese market for digital books.
In the field of libraries the FGSR had a very active year with different prototypes in several library networks. As a sample of this projects the meeting during Readmagine included a creative session about the research on the perception and use of libraries in the Region of Madrid, a workshop with a showcase of diverse innovative offers for patrons. The climax of the day arrived when the experts (children from 8 to 10 years old) presented their prototype for the new libraries in Madrid, by showing a model with several levels and disruptive organization of the activities toboggans.
Readmagine 17 also hosted the startups campus (with pitching competition) and the presentations by to consolidated CEO (from Pocoyó and Movistar Riders).
During the day focused on learning there were several workshops (as the one on digital narrative and learning) the debate for the innovation in the classrooms and how to integrate digital, art, body and affections in the learning experience. Also a debate on the new narratives and the integration of reading with geolocation, tourism and reader participation.
