John Martin is the former CEO of Sanoma Learning (HQ in Helsinki, Finland) and is currently Chairman of ILT Education (HQ in Stockholm, Sweden), Board Member of Infinitas Learning (HQ in Utrecht, The Netherlands) and an advisor and investor in various education and edtech companies across the continent.

He has broad experience in the market for learning solutions having led companies that serve some 15M students and 1.5M teachers across Europe and has extensive expertise in internationalisation and digital transformation. 

Prior to joining Sanoma, John worked in strategy consulting (ContentConnected) and in science publishing (Wolters Kluwer). He has a Ph.D. in bioinformatics.

Nick Coveney is Senior Key Account Manager for Digital Services at Ingram Content Group, with over fourteen years’ publishing industry experience, working previously in a variety of roles as an Editor and digital product specialist. Nick led digital product development at a range of major publishers including; Hachette UK, Bonnier Books, HarperCollins UK and Verso Books as well as working for many years as publisher relations and content lead at Rakuten Kobo.

Camilla is a digital marketing consultant with a focus on the publishing industry and the Italian market. After a master’s degree in International Publishing at City University of London, Camilla worked for a number of independent publishers, before joining digital marketing agency The Tandem Collective, where she leads the implementation of international social media campaigns.

Paula Gallejones Fernández, has been managing digital products since the beginning of her career; from airplane entertainment platforms, and Wi-Fi connection, to gaming and subscription marketplaces. Now, as Head of Product in Mondia Digital she manages the delivery of the end-to-end solutions of the subscription marketplace to telcos around the world. By doing this, users can subscribe via their telco companies to different products via a single point of access – bringing additional value than subscribing in isolation. Motto: if you believe is doable, go and prove it.

Carlo Carrenho is an international publishing consultant based in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been working in book publishing for 30 years and his experience is particularly strong on digital strategy, business development and general management.

He is Frankfurt Book Fair’s Audio Ambassador for the 2023 and 2024 editions. Besides that, he has been consulting for companies and organizations such as Dreamscape (USA), Beletrina (Slovenia), Arabic Language Center (Abu Dhabi) and Meta Solutions (Brazil). As a publishing expert, Carlo has moderated or lectured in events such as Digital Book World in the U.S., China’s First World Conference of Digital Publications and South Africa’s Digital Technologies Summit, as well as book fairs such as Frankfurt, London, Guadalajara, Buenos Aires, Abu Dhabi, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. He has also co-authored several publishing studies and reports.

He founded the online book trade media PublishNews in Brazil and Spain and recently sold his equity in these companies. Carlo has a degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo and attended the Radcliffe Publishing Course in Cambridge, US.

Aurora Paya Sanchez studied international trade in Spain and, after working for Waterstones in London, joined digital marketing agency Tandem Collective. Since 2022 she has been in charge of developing digital marketing campaigns in Spanish-speaking territories. She is teaching a course on content marketing within the training provided by PARIX, a school for the Spanish book industry.
Niels ’t Hooft is an entrepreneur and author who wrote novels and stories for video games. Much of his business experience is in the games industry, first as a founder of games media, then developing and marketing games. The Immer seed was planted when he was sorely disappointed by his first e-book. Niels co-founded Immer with Lennart de Meij in 2020, and he is now its CEO; with their team they are working hard on the future of reading long-form text on a screen.

Javier Celaya is the CEO and founder of Dosdoce.com. For the last 15 years, Javier has been leading the set-up and launch in Spain and Latin America of very innovative digital platforms such as Bookwire, Storytel and Podimo, among other start-ups and platforms. Throughout the years, Dosdoce.com has published more than 150 studies and reports on the use of new technologies in different areas of the publishing sector (content creation, business models, distribution strategies, marketing campaigns, pricing, etc.)

Enrico Turrin got a degree in Economics at the University Luigi Bocconi in Milan in 2000 and a master’s degree in International Affairs at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), Milan, in 2001. After internships at the Italian Embassy in Madrid and at the United Nation’s Global Programme against Money Laundering in Vienna, in 2002 he became Project Manager in the Training Area at ISPI and lecturer of International Organisations. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as an external expert and lecturer for ISPI and for a project by the Italian Foreign Ministry in the field of Cooperation. In 2008 he was hired as an economist by FEP, where he has been involved in the ARROW, ARROW plus, TISP and Ambrosia projects, and is currently working in the Aldus network and in the ASAP project. He is Deputy Director of FEP since 2012.

In addition to leading Rakuten Kobo, the global digital bookseller, He advises startups focused on aging and technology as Chief Entrepreneur of Age-Well NCE, is on the board of directors of the Law Commission of Ontario, Ontario’s law reform body, as well as The Power Plant, Toronto’s foremost contemporary art gallery. Michael has been a part of Rakuten Kobo’s executive team since its inception in 2009, and previously held the role of Chief Content Officer. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
