Anika Neriz Manansala is an Advertising student at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, currently undertaking a Diploma in Professional Studies placement year. As part of From Local Voices to Global Pages, they applied their background in strategic communication and audience research to explore how independent Latin American publishing can be promoted to international markets. Interested in developing a multidisciplinary creative career, their work sits at the intersection of communication strategy, culture, and global engagement.

Freya Watts is a Contemporary Media Cultures student at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, with over five years of experience in creative communications across a range of media and formats. Her work focuses on positive social change, cultural awareness, and exploring how communication can support more inclusive and meaningful engagement. Through this project, she has contributed research and audience insight to help reimagine how Latin American publishing can connect with global audiences.

Ilana Portman is an industrial designer and MA Publishing student at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Her practice spans print, visual communication, and object design, with a particular interest in the relationship between materiality, publishing, and theory. She is also co-founder of Proyectos Tegami, an independent press and bookbinding studio based in Mexico City. Through this project, she brings perspectives from both publishing and design to explore new ways of strengthening connections between Latin American and international publishing ecosystems.

Mireia González-Adrio is an MA Publishing student at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, originally from Barcelona. With a background in design and the humanities, she approaches publishing through both visual and critical perspectives, with an interest in editorial development and the systems that shape how texts are produced, circulated, and read. Her recent work explores the structures and gaps within publishing ecosystems, focusing on how editorial practices can make information more visible, accessible, and connected across contexts.

Carolina Yumi Kayano Nishiyama is currently serving as Chief Marketing Officer at Skeelo, one of the region’s largest digital reading platforms, she specializes in driving go-to-market planning, product storytelling, and ecosystem integration for high-growth digital platforms. With over 15 years of experience leading brand strategy and digital growth across Latin America’s top entertainment and consumer goods companies, including  The Walt Disney Company, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, PepsiCo and  Gruppo Campari . Her expertise lies at the intersection of entertainment, digital ecosystems, and global IP and franchise, where she seamlessly connects powerful storytelling with data-driven strategies and high-impact partnerships and has led institutional marketing development of Disney+ in Brazil  as well as general entertainment and local original production campaigns.

Esperanza Luque, writer and booktoker

Esperanza Luque (Valencia, 1996) is a writer, editor in the literary magazine La Avenida de los Libros and journalist. He shares his love of reading on TikTok, where he creates content with recommendations, reflections and sketches of literary humor for a reading community that already exceeds 145,000 people, and in the current #bookstagram (where he has almost 50,000 followers). Andrea Giunti (Florence, 1997) joined the Board of Directors of Giunti Editore in 2016, with responsibility for digital development. After completing his international education at NYU Shanghai and executive programs

at Yale and Columbia, he launched the group’s internationalization by joining The Quarto Group. In 2025, after nearly three years as Executive Vice President, he became the Chief Executive Officer of the group.

Since 1999 he has produced multiple internationally recognized feature films and tv shows such as The Invisible Girl for Disney+ based on the bestselling novel by Blue Jeans; Below Zero, one of Netflix’s Spanish language hits; Diablero, a tv show for Netflix set in Mexico; Intemperie, based on Jesus Carrasco’s novel and directed by Benito Zambrano (obtaining various Goya Awards); The Warning, based on Paul Pen’s novel and directed by Daniel Calparsoro; The Last Days directed by Alex & David Pastor (Gaudi Awards) and Bon Appétit by David Pinillos (Goya and Biznagas in Malaga).

He is currently executive producing Echoes of a Killer, a True Crime series created by Sergio G. Sanchez for Netflix and Burn!, a tv dramedy for Movistar and TV3 based on the life of the chef Maria Nicolau.

He has an Economics degree from the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid; Masters in Film & TV Production (MEGA) from the Media Business School; Spanish ‘Producer on the Move’ by European Film Promotion (EFP); Graduate from Inside Pictures and Member of the Spanish Film Academy and the International Academy of Television.

A specialist in the field of scientific documentation and information, with academic training in Humanities (Pablo de Olavide University) and Documentation (Open University of Catalonia), as well as a Master’s degree in Libraries and Digital Information Services (Carlos III University of Madrid). He currently serves as Head of Learning and Research Support Services at the Library/CRAI of Pablo de Olavide University, where he is also an associate professor in the area of Library and Information Science and coordinates the Official Master’s Program in Digital History and Humanities. With over twenty years of experience, he has developed and implemented training programs for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as for teaching and research staff, focusing on the development of digital skills, scientific communication, and research evaluation. His work also includes expert advice on scientific evaluation and publication for authors, editors, reviewers, and decision-making bodies, in a context marked by the transition to open science models and responsible evaluation.

Professor of Research Methodology at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, University of Granada. A specialist in science and science communication evaluation, he began his research career proposing procedures for assessing the editorial quality of scientific journals. He has designed numerous information systems to measure the performance of journals, scientists, and institutions. His current research focuses on analyzing new sources of information and scientific evaluation (bibliographic databases, search engines, and academic social networks), clarifying the new metrics used to measure the visibility and impact of scientific activity and their consequences for the behavior of scientists, the business of scientific publishing, and the proliferation of fraudulent practices in scientific publishing.
