Daniel Sánchez is a journalist specializing in education and science at elDiario.es. His work focuses on the critical analysis of research and the functioning of the scientific system, with particular attention to integrity in academic publishing and the dissemination of knowledge. He has addressed issues such as the quality of scientific journals, the business surrounding publications, biases in research, and the social impact of science, with a special interest in the role of the public sector as the main funder and regulator of the system.

A graduate in Business Administration from Carlos III University of Madrid, he has worked for 21 years at the Spanish University Publishers Association, holding the position of technical secretary for the last four. He has participated in numerous collaborative projects between Spanish and international academic publishers and has designed various platforms to support the publication and dissemination of accredited, high-quality content generated within Spanish universities and research centers.
He combines his current role with that of administrator of the CEA-APQ academic publishing quality seal, a pioneering initiative that evaluates and certifies research collections and monographs for the curriculum vitae of researchers, in collaboration with the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

Vice President of UNE and Director of UPV Press. A graduate in Art History and Library Science and Documentation, she worked at the Library of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) from 1997 to 2010, when she became Director of UPV Press. She has been a member of the UNE board of directors since 2008 and Vice President of the association since 2020. At UNE, she coordinates the open access and library relations program. For the past two years, she has collaborated with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) on the development of the criteria for the journal quality seal.

PhD, serves as the Coordinator of the Open Science Unit at the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and is an associate lecturer at the National Distance Education University (UNED). She earned her PhD in Government and Public Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2006.
Pilar supports the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the design, implementation, and evaluation of both national and European R&D&I public policies.
Internationally, Pilar represents Spain at Open Research Europe, at the European Commission’s National Points of Reference (NPR) for Scientific Information Expert Group, at the EOSC Steering Board Expert Group, and at the Council for National Open Science Coordination (CoNOSC). She is also a national expert on the Horizon Europe Programme Committee for Research Infrastructures.

A Professor of Civil Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid, she is currently the Director of the Faculty Evaluation Division of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). She is the author of five monographs and numerous book chapters and scholarly articles on a wide range of topics. Her research spans from 1993 to 2023 and encompasses, among other subjects, the Law of Parentage, the Law of Persons (especially the protection of minors), the Law of Obligations and Contracts (both general theory and specific contracts), and the Law of Secured Transactions. Her teaching has sought to combine rigorous knowledge transmission with innovation and the development of textbooks.

Her experience in university administration is primarily supported by her service as Vice Dean of Academic Affairs (2003-2006), Vice Dean of Undergraduate Studies (2014-2018), and Department Secretary (2006-2007). She has been elected on several occasions as a member of the Faculty Board of Law and the Senate of the Autonomous University of Madrid, formed part of several internal commissions (validations, teaching, research or doctorate), and evaluated research projects and aid to university professors, at the request of different organizations.

Francisco Javier currently heads the Book & Film Rights department at Planeta Edición, managing the international Rights sales as well as the audiovisual adaptations of the titles published by Grupo Planeta in the different imprints. Madrid-born, graduated in BA at Universidad Complutense, Sanz has 25 years of experience in the contents industry, both in Spain and abroad. For 15 years worked in the music industry, for the Bertelsmann Group (BMG); also within Bertelsmann, had a 2-year long experience in the Cinema & Home video business in Munich, Germany, at Universum Film (an RTL company). Not straying far from the music world, developed the branded entertainment division in Madrid for the OMD/PhD Group, and worked with top brands creating and designing ad hoc contents for them. In 2016 joined the publishing business and moved to Barcelona, assuming his current position at Planeta. Aside from leading the Foreign Rights and book-to-screen business, has been busy coordinating the editorial line of adaptation of Netflix top series such as Élite and La casa de papel (Money heist), that is, the screen-to-book business as well.

Alessi Schreiber is a publisher, literary translator, and director of the Mediterranea Publishing Fellowship, an annual programme that brings together ten international editors for three days of intensive exchange in Cagliari, Sardinia. Now in its third edition  the Fellowship is built around the conviction that meaningful international publishing relationships require deep cultural understanding before commercial exchange. He is co-founder of Ischìre, an independent editorial cooperative based in Sardinia, and founder of Nothe.ai, a pre-translation analysis system for literary and academic texts. He has translated over twenty titles from seven languages into Italian.

This extensive background in creative industries has shaped his innovative approach to supporting creators and publishers. Skilled in marketing strategy and digital marketing, Per combines entrepreneurial vision with a deep understanding of how creative work reaches its audience.

Beatriz Celaya is an editor and co-founder of ALT Autores, an independent publishing house established in 2017 to discover new literary voices while supporting both established and award-winning authors. Its catalogue spans print, digital, and audio formats, including audiobooks and podcasts.

Working alongside literary agent Nuria Ostáriz, she represents titles from major publishing groups such as Anaya, Edebé, Maeva, Trama Editorial, and Fondo de Cultura Económica, as well as selected works from leading literary agencies. The catalogue includes authors such as José Ángel Mañas, Vicente Molina Foix, Iñigo Ramírez de Haro and Ángela Vallvey, among others.

ALT Autores projects have been selected for key industry platforms including Rodando Páginas, Mestizo Lab, and Iberseries Platino Industria, and the company regularly participates in major international markets such as EFM Industry Market at Berlinale, the Frankfurt Book Fair’s Books to Screen, Shoot the book in Cannes and the Venice Book Adaptation Market.

Celaya holds a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid. She began her career as a journalist in various media and publishing houses.

Quique Olmos has a degree in Aquatic Ecotechnology and Environment from the Hogeschool Zeeland University in the Netherlands. He started his first job as an editor 24 years ago in his family’s company, Editorial Ecir, dedicated to textbooks. He had already worked and learned the job there before, and under his supervision they began to publish children’s and young people’s books. After five years at Editorial Ecir, he moved to direct Carena Editors, dedicated to narrative and local culture, and in 2015 he co-founded Grupo Editorial Sargantana SL, a publishing house that stands out for its continuous search for innovation and editorial digitization. He is a member of the board of directors of the Valencia Publishers Association and member of the Valencia Booksellers’ Guild. He has a master’s degree in publishing from the University of Valencia and another in graphic arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has attended numerous national and international publishing conferences and regularly attended the most important professional book fairs, such as Frankfurt, Liber, Guadalajara or Bologna, and trade missions in the sector. Currently, the publishing group that he co-directs with Paz Navarro has more than 600 authors.
