Luc Bourcier is the CEO of Izneo, Europe’s leading digital comic platform. He has achieved most of his career in video games. In 1988, he launched the Sega brand in France and later managed regional subsidiaries of major international video games publisher : before joining izneo, he was Vice President Publishing Southern Europe for Codemasters. Graduated from Audencia Business School he also holds a PhD from Celsa Paris Sorbonne and an MBA «Marketing and Commerce on Internet«. Enrico Turrin got a degree in Economics at the University Luigi Bocconi in Milan in 2000 and a master’s degree in International Affairs at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), Milan, in 2001. After internships at the Italian Embassy in Madrid and at the United Nation’s Global Programme against Money Laundering in Vienna, in 2002 he became Project Manager in the Training Area at ISPI and lecturer of International Organisations. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as an external expert and lecturer for ISPI and for a project by the Italian Foreign Ministry in the field of Cooperation. In 2008 he was hired as an economist by FEP, where he has been involved in the ARROW, ARROW plus, TISP and Ambrosia projects, and is currently working in the Aldus network and in the ASAP project. He is Deputy Director of FEP since 2012.

 

Michael Busch, born 1964, is CEO and Managing Partner at Thalia Bücher GmbH.

After completing his degree in Economics at the University of Cologne, he began his professional career at KNIGHT WENDLING Consulting GmbH where he worked in the field of corporate restructuring and M&A.Michael Busch joined DOUGLAS HOLDING AG in 1993 as a controller in the Douglas Group. In 1995 he was appointed to the management board in the DOUGLAS Group’s Book division, before becoming the division’s CEO in 1998. From January 2003 he represented the Book division within the executive board of the Douglas Group. From September 2012 to March 2015 he was an executive board member of Douglas Holding AG. After Thalia’s separation from Douglas Holding AG Michael Busch remains CEO of Thalia Bücher GmbH. In 2016 after acquiring Thalia together with three partners he has additionally become the Managing Partner.

Orme is a board member of The Right to Read Alliance is a partnership of organisations working to improve access to information for people with print disabilities in the UK. By joining together aims to present a unified voice to engage with government, publishers and technology companies.

Daniel Weck is a software engineer who works with the DAISY Consortium, a global not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to ensure that persons with print disabilities (e.g. people who are blind, visually-impaired, dyslexic) have equal access to information and knowledge, without delay or additional expense.

For the past decade, Daniel has developed open-source software in the fields of multimedia and electronic publishing («e-books»), including validation utilities, authoring tools and reading systems.

Gardeur is in charge of all key products at De Marque, such as Hub: a distribution service for publishers; Station/Biblius: content portals for libraries and schools ; Reader (Aldiko): mobile and Web apps for ebooks/audiobooks/comics; Market (Feedbooks) and Boutique through which we operate both B2C and B2B sales channels. Gardeur is also founder and board member of EDRLab (elected twice for a board seat).

Tröger is founder of Bookalope, an online service that provides customers with intelligent and scalable tools that analyze and convert books: from AI-assisted content analysis to structured content extraction, from flagging and fixing stylistic, textual, and typographical issues, to conversion for electronic and print publishing or for other integrated publishing workflows.

 

He is also working at Talaera responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the technology that drives the Talaera experience. Currently working with a small team of experienced developers, we are building our own cloud infrastructure while integrating tightly into existing services provided by Tokbox, Google, AWS, and others.
